Five unusual alphabets in one place: Gothic (fraktur), heavy Gothic, outline letters, decorative script and heavy sans.

Style: Gothic · letters with no Unicode form stay unchanged

How this works

Each style is a genuine Unicode alphabet designed for mathematics. Gothic use the Mathematical Fraktur block (U+1D504–U+1D537) and its bold companion; outline letters use Mathematical Double-Struck (U+1D538–U+1D56B). Both ranges have reserved slots filled from the Letterlike Symbols block — for Gothic the capitals ℭ, ℌ, ℑ, ℜ and ℨ, and for outline ℂ, ℍ, ℕ, ℙ, ℚ, ℝ and ℤ, the seven symbols mathematicians use for sets. That is why a few capitals look sharper than their neighbours.

Where to use it

These alphabets suit horror and fantasy titles, metal band artwork, magic-themed projects, tattoo quotes and any heading that should look different in a plain-text field. Keep them short — they are display styles, and a full paragraph becomes very hard to read.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do the C, H, N, P, Q, R and Z look different in outline text?

Those seven blackboard-bold symbols were added to Unicode long before the rest of the outline alphabet, so the newer block skips them and reuses the originals. The result is the familiar ℂ ℍ ℕ ℙ ℚ ℝ ℤ you see in maths books.

Which of these styles looks the most unusual?

Fraktur (Gothic) reads as medieval and is the strongest choice for horror or fantasy. Double-struck outline looks technical and academic, bold script looks like a certificate, and heavy sans looks like a poster caption.

Are gothic letters safe to use in a brand name?

Use them as decoration, not as the name itself. These are different codepoints from ordinary letters, so nobody can spell or search the name, and the trademark itself would still be the plain-text wording.

Will all five styles display on my device?

The fraktur, bold fraktur and double-struck alphabets ship with modern Windows, macOS, iOS and Android fonts, so they display widely. Coverage on older Linux desktops and minimal systems can be patchy.
