Glitch Text Generator

Stack invisible Unicode marks on your letters to make text look glitched, cursed or corrupted. Pick a strength and copy the result.

Style: Glitch (zalgo) · letters with no Unicode form stay unchanged

How this works

Glitch (zalgo) text works by attaching Unicode combining marks to each letter. A base letter is followed by zero-width accents — U+0300 (grave above), U+0332 (low line below) and dozens of others — and the renderer stacks them vertically on top of the letter. Add enough of them and the glyph looks like it is bleeding. The letters themselves never change: only invisible marks are added, so the text still copies and pastes as ordinary characters — and that is also why it breaks in places that limit or sanitise what you can type.

Where to use it

Use a light setting for social bios and comments; heavier settings are for jokes, horror-themed titles and album art text. Keep in mind that some platforms measure a glitched word as dozens of characters, that usernames and search boxes usually reject it, and that screen readers cannot pronounce heavy zalgo.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does glitch text break in some apps?

Because it is built from stacked combining marks, and not every app supports them. Search boxes, usernames, forms with length limits, and some comment systems either strip the extra characters or show them as empty boxes. Where it works, it is because the app simply renders whatever Unicode you give it.

How do I make the effect stronger or weaker?

Use the strength selector: it controls how many marks are stacked on each letter. Strength 1 adds a light wobble that still reads normally — good for a bio. Strength 4 is maximum corruption and will overflow the line height, so use it only where you want chaos.

Does glitch text work on Instagram, TikTok or Discord?

Bios, captions and post text usually accept it in a light setting. Usernames, hashtags, search and display names are normally blocked because those fields allow only simple letters and digits. Test with a light setting first and keep a plain copy of your text in case a field rejects it.

Can heavy glitch text cause problems?

It can. Very heavy zalgo makes lines overlap and becomes unreadable, some forums treat it as spam, and screen readers skip or mispronounce it. Accessibility matters: never use it for anything a reader must be able to parse.
